About

Hello! I’m Cathy and I live in the beautiful Willamette Valley of Oregon with my husband, daughter, and two feline quilting assistants. I made my first quilt in 1976, during the Bicentennial, when quilting began a huge resurgence and have been quilting ever since. I began teaching while working in a local quilt shop and have taught students of all levels and a wide variety of techniques and patterns. I have been creating quilts of my own designs from the beginning and started developing some of those designs into patterns to use in classes. I love contemporary quilts derived from traditional blocks and designs and especially am drawn to blocks that create interesting secondary designs. I’m also a big fan of quilts that look more complicated and difficult than they really are. I love bright and saturated colors, batiks, and scrappy quilts.

Teaching is currently on hold due to Covid-19
